Patriot Forest Solutions is run by Harrison Turk, a U.S. Navy veteran who served as a Marine Machinery Mechanic. He grew up in the trade, his father ran Rick Turk Tree Service, earned a degree in arboriculture from Paul Smith's College, and trained at Bartlett Tree Experts before running heavy equipment of his own.
He started HT Firewood in 2018 and rebranded to Patriot Forest Solutions in 2024. We are a logging company first. We help landowners get real value out of their woods while doing everything we can not to destroy them, and the best of that hardwood becomes your firewood.

It starts in the woods
A standing tree, not a wood lot
We run a cut-to-length logging operation, which means we go from a standing tree to a stack of cut logs without ever moving the machine. We fell it, delimb it, and cut it to length right where it stands, so we never drag trees across the woods to process them later. That work is handled by a best in class Ponsse H8HD processing head. It starts with a standing tree and finishes with a clean stack of logs from that exact tree.

We bring it out the right way
Carried to the landing, never dragged
Our log forwarder then drives straight to each pile, picks it up, and carries it to the landing. There the logs are sorted, stacked, and staged, ready to be loaded onto a tractor trailer. Carrying the wood out instead of dragging it is gentler on your ground and keeps the logs clean.

We hand-pick what comes home
We choose the logs that become your firewood
We cut tractor trailer loads of logs, and we get to choose exactly which ones come back to our yard. As we work, we build a separate pile of special logs on the landing. That is the pile we bring home. We do not buy whatever we can get our hands on. Hand-selecting our own logs is the whole reason we can hand you firewood this good.

Then the yard goes to work
Processed, split, and cleaned
Once those logs are home, we load full logs into our Multitek firewood processor. An operator at a control station runs each log through. A four foot blade cuts it into blocks, an integrated splitter turns those into split firewood, and a series of conveyors clean the wood to raise the quality at every pass. There will always be some debris when it comes to firewood, and we do everything we can to keep it to a minimum. For kindling we go a step further, with a commercial splitter and an integrated bagging table, so our kindling is real wood made on purpose, not leftovers off a scrap pile.
